The Mid-Winter Ball

I haven't been a very good blogger lately. Mostly because I am currently addicted to Facebook. As in...Hello, my name is Gail Moore and I'm addicted to Facebook.

Anyway, Mom and Susie came last weekend for the Mid-Winter Ball. We had all sorts of fun at the ball and the entire time they were here. Poppy Lee and Mimi went to the ball with us...so did Bethany...and, Susie had a DATE! Here are some pics...enjoy!

Susie and Tom - Apparently Susie was enjoying the Bomb Pop Martinis.

Sisters...

Poppy Lee and Mimi

Bethany and Mimi - think about it - they aren't really related...but they looked so much alike, everyone thought they were and so Bubba just started saying yes, she was Mimi's granddaughter...it was just easier.

Mom and Susie and Tom. Doesn't Mom look beautiful? Susie and Tom are pretty cute, too.

BK, getting ready for the ball.

Chapel

Sarah Grace's class reciting 1 Corinthians 13...so cute

John and Daniel leading the school in prayer.

Posing for pictures after the play.

As a part of a Valentine’s Day celebration, John and Sarah Grace's classes at Palmetto Christian Academy led the weekly chapel service for the school and parents on Friday, February 13th. The theme of the chapel was “Loving your neighbor”. The second grade class recited from memory chapter 13 of 1st Corinthians – the love chapter. The third through fifth grade, presented a puppet show based on Christ’s parable of the Good Samaritan. The students led the school in singing and prayer at the end of the service.

It was so cute and the puppet show was just fabulous. My hats are off to my children and their teachers...all of whom are much more talented than I am!

The Surprise Party

Last night we celebrated Brian's 40th Birthday. We threw him a surprise party at the Grange Hall. Believe it or not, it stayed a surprise right up until the time Brian walked through the door. That was quite a shock since the kids knew...Will kept saying things like "Isn't this party really for Daddy, not Poppy Lee". Luckily Brian didn't notice.

How did we get him there? We told him it was a party for his Dad (whose birthday happens to be today). We had about 40 people, great food, great cake, and a DJ.

A special thanks to Peggy and Robin - I couldn't have pulled this off without them. They were the real reason the party went off without a hitch.

Here are some pictures. Enjoy...

Mr. Chip and Mags dancing

John and Sissy dancing - I've told John girls like boys who can dance.

The song "Brown Eyed Girl" was playing and Brian danced with his Brown Eyed Girl.

Bubba and Brandy and Shawn came all the way from Augusta. Thanks for coming - they look like they are having a good time.

The Girls

Brian blowing out his candles. Luckily we only put a 4 candle and a 0 candle on it, so he only had 2 to blow out, not 40!

We limboed...Peggy going under the bar.

Here is the cake Brian's Mom made - it was great! Read the numbers...10,20,30,40,50,60,70,80...OLD!

Here is a video of Charles and John (and a little bit of Peggy) dancing. Sorry it's sideways - you know I can't fix that. I think they both had a good time, too...

Dancing daddy

This isn't our Daddy dancing (but he did dance), it's Marc. This is from Christmas Day - the kids got a Wii and High School Musical Dance-off as a game. Of course, we all played and Marc and Brian got the highest scores. What is that??? I got kicked off the dance floor by the GAME because I was so bad. It made me think of when I was little and we got our first Atari. Everyone in the neighborhood wanted to play against my Mom, because she couldn't play very well and everyone always beat her...we'll it's official, I've become my mother - everyone wants to play against me on the Wii because I"m so bad at it....

Here is Marc bustin' a move...sorry it's sideways - I don't know how to fix that yet...

Here is a picture of Marc, resting after all that dancing. Our kids are so lucky to have such fun, involved daddys!

New Years Eve - the Party

We (all 6 of us) went to the Cromer's house for a New Year's Eve party. There were about 15 adults there and more than 15 kids (they outnumbered us).

We had a great time. Click above to see the fireworks show we had. Our friends Charles and Christa Clinemyer brought fireworks - tons of them. Charles put on quite a show. As you can see, all the kids loved it - so did all the adults. It was a super fun way to ring in the new year.

We also had Karaoke. You know how much I love music - so Karaoke was lots of fun. You can see from the video below, that Magpie is a star in the making. Listen closely and you can hear here her joining in.

Here is a picture of Charles - he's quite the singer. It's his voice you hear in the video of Mags singing.
